Clinical Social Workers
Meet with one of our Social Workers
Stephanie Husk holds a Masters Degree in Social Work from Portland State University in Portland, Oregon. She is certified as a Clinical Social Worker and has been a mental health and behavioral specialist for the past 24 years.
Stephanie helps people reach their health goals with compassion and respect. She understands that health issues are complex and that a holistic approach is necessary for success.
She works from a bio/psycho/social/spiritual framework and encourages patients toward a strength-based approach to life. Stephanie maintains her license through continuing education, taking classes dealing with subjects relevant to the health care profession.
Amy holds a masters in Social Work from the University of Texas, Arlington, graduating in 1997. She earned her clinical licensure in 2002 after working with adolescents and their families in short term shelter and group home settings. After moving to Oregon, she met and married her husband and spent the next 12 years focused on raising and homeschooling their three children. She returned to clinical work as a mental health practitioner at a local inpatient psychiatric unit in Bend 7 years ago. In addition, she has led a handful of Genesis Change Groups through a local church.
Recently Amy has come to embrace Solution Focused Brief Therapy. The SFBT approach attends to the outcome and resolution of problems in contrast to focusing on the problem itself. SFBT is brief because the therapist and client get right to the process of desired change and resulting transformation. It is an evidence-based approach, showing itself effective in addressing anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationship problems for all ages.
